He is author of Migration, Authority, and Jihad in West Africa (published by Indiana University Press) and co-editor and translator (with David Robinson) of After the Jihad: The Reign of Ahmad al-Kabir in the Western Sudan. He is also co-editor of Africa Today. dele jegede is Supervisor of the Art Appreciation Program at Indiana State University. He has published widely on African and African-American art. His paintings and cartoons draw from popular culture in contemporary Africa.

Patrick McNaughton is Professor of Art History at Indiana University, Bloomington. He is author of Mande Blacksmiths (published by Indiana University Press).

Ruth M. Stone is Professor of Folklore and Chair of the Folklore Institute at Indiana University, Bloomington. She is author of Dried Millet Breaking.

N. Brian Winchester is Director of the Center for the Study of Global Change at Indiana University, Bloomington. He has contributed to several publications including The Fletcher Forum of World Affairs, Political Handbook of the World, and Revolutions in the Late Twentieth Century.

The Teaching and Learning Technologies Laboratory at Indiana University, Bloomington, assists faculty working with instructional technology. A team of instructional consultants, courseware developers, and specialists in digital technologies staffs the facility.
